Join the University of Chicago’s Center for Effective Government and WBEZ’s Reset on September 22 for “Re-Imagine Chicago's Capstone Event, hosted live in-person at the Harris School of Public Policy for University affiliates and invited guests, and streaming online for the broader Chicago community.
Since May, ‘Re-Imagine Chicago’’ has asked people to think boldly about the best ways to re-cast our local governing institutions —from city councils, public safety, education, and more. As the series wraps up, join us on September 22 at 6pm CT as we bring together members of the Chicago community to dive deeply into some of the ideas we’ve heard this summer, hear more about the types of change you think can most impact the city, and consider the real implications of expansive structural changes on public policy—community investment, health, education, policing, infrastructure, and more—that affect the lives of all Chicagoans.
The event will feature interviews and panel discussions with:
Sasha Ann-Simons (Moderator) | Journalist and Host of Reset, WBEZ
Helene Gayle | President and CEO, The Chicago Community Trust
Martin Torres (CLA'17) | First Assistant Deputy Governor for Education, Office of the Governor - Illinois
Joseph M. Ferguson | Inspector General, City of Chicago
Allison Arwady (CLA'18) | Commissioner, Chicago Department of Public Health
William Howell | Director, Center for Effective Government
